Lauren had a beautiful and distinctive voice with a light Texas accent (occasionally magnified by tall-boys) along with a sweet and infectious laugh. She was a great conversationalist and an excellent listener. I would often hear her say goodbye to someone only to watch another 1/2 hour of conversation unfold. She bottled up little - she always spoke her mind and wore her passions and concerns on her sleeve. She was a great and loyal friend - compassionate, funny, supportive, intelligent and loving.

I miss her.
